I’m interested in controlling an air compressor remotely. The air compressor is 12v dc and 20 amps. I want this to be a long range remote control system with the ability to accommodate a heavy duty compressor. I only want the remote control to have the “on” and “off” functions for this air compressor.
Answer:
An air compressor is a device that converts power (usually from an electric motor, a diesel engine or a gasoline engine) into kinetic energy by compressing and pressurizing air, which can be released in quick bursts. It is used for sanders, sprayers, nail guns or almost any other types of air tools. Definitely, remote controlling of air compressor is really an easy task, you can switch it on and off from a reliable distance. So we recommend this 30A long range remote control (S1PU-DC12-ANT2+1CB-2) to you.
Maximum current of channel is 30amp which is very favorable for your air compressor. With external extend antenna, the transmitter and receiver have longer working range, up to 2000M.
The remote control operates in toggle, momentary and latched mode (set the mode as you like freely). We suggest setting latched mode because the receiver pairs with 2-button transmitter. One button controls “On”, another button controls “Off”.
Wire air compressor to the receiver as the following picture shown. This receiver is designed with normally open and close configuration. A&B terminals are normally open; A&C terminals are normally closed. Usually we connect device to normally open terminals. Air compressor can be connected to common terminal “A”.
Operation:
Setting control mode Latched: Disconnect Jumper-1 and Jumper-2.
Control mode Latched: Press -> On, other relays Off; Press another button -> Off.
Press big button: Turn on the relay, turn on the air compressor.
Press small button: Turn off the relay, turn off the air compressor.
