How to Remote Control Electromagnetic Lock

Electromagnetic lock is a locking device that consists of an electromagnet and an armature plate. The principle behind an electromagnetic lock is the use of electromagnetism to lock a door when energized. Essentially it consists of an electromagnet attracting a conductor with a force large enough to prevent the door from being opened.

That is to say, if only we could cut off power supply and make electromagnet force between electromagnet and armature plate to disappear, the door would be opened. Furthermore, we just try to use a direct dc output momentary remote and one button transmitter to cut off electric power to open the door. The following demonstration will show.

At first, we prepare material.

The wiring

When we supply power to electromagnetic lock, electromagnet will attract armature plate through magnetic force. The door is locked. When we press button, the power supply will be cut off. The door is open as soon as electromagnetic lock unlock instantly.

What’s more, this rf remote control sends out rf signal which can pass through walls, doors as well as other barriers. You can remote control the electromagnetic lock to open the door as long as you stay within a reliable distance.

Remote Controller is Used in Water Feeding System

I own a cattle farm and I have to add water to my feed ration when I feed the cattle. I used to have to pull the tractor and trailer up to the water pipe, climb down from the tractor and walk around the side, plug in a submersible pump and run water into the feed trailer.

It is fairly inconvenient. I am wondering if there is a way to make that all remote controlled. Soon, I found single channel AC high power module.

I used the remote controller to toggle power to a timer relay which in turn powered the coil of a small motor starter. Through the motor starter, I ran a receptacle which plugged the submersible pump into.

Here is the wiring.

So when I press the remote control button 1, the control unit then energizes the timer for 3 minutes to activate the motor starter for 120volts submersible pump running. When I think I have enough water in feed ration, I press the remote control button 2 to stop water flowing and I continue on with the feeding of the cattle. The reason for the timer in the circuit is a fail-safe. If I forget to turn off the pump when there is enough water in ration and drive away without turning off the pump, the timer will only allow the pump to run for a maximum of 3 minutes, preventing 3000 gallons of water being pumped out on the ground.

So far the unit seems to work flawlessly and I am VERY pleased with how the whole system works.

One Transmitter Controls 4 Garden Goods Shop Lighted Signs

One of our customers has 4 small lighted exterior signs around a garden goods shop building and would like to control all four signs to go on and off by a simple RF system switch. He is wondering whether this is possible or not?

Our suggestion is that he can order 4 receivers for remote control model of S1X-AC220-ANT2 and one grant range remote transmitter CB-4. All lighted signs are respectively installed to each receiver for longer remote distance.

The theoretical transmitting distance is 2000m (6000FT) in the open field. Even though in actual operation, it is hindered by trees, walls or other obstacles, or interfered by other signals. It is still enough for the exterior signs around the building.

4 lighted signs should be wired to 4 receivers’ L&N terminals individually. Wiring diagram as shown below:

4 Spotlights Controllable by High Power Long Range Controller

A PE teacher from a football training school intended to look for remote control system to switch on and off 4 big spotlights in the stadium. Spotlights’ switch was installed on a wall outside of stadium gate. He must go to touch the manual switches one by one when he had PE class in the stadium. So he would like to have a set of remote controller to control spotlights.

According his requirement, we suggest this high power remote control system with 30amp maximum working current. It contains 4-channel high power ac output receiver and one great range 4-button remote transmitter. Working distance of this set is 2000m (6000ft) in the open air with external magnetic mount antenna.

Wiring is fairly simple. Do as the following picture shows. Wire each spotlight to each relay; use transmitter to remote control them. Four buttons control corresponding spotlight respectively.

Lighted Taxi Symbol is Controlled Remotely Outside of the Hotel

We have this kind of wireless long range remote control kit.

These are transmitter and receiver. With external extended antenna of the receiver, the whole kit’s transmitting distance can reach 2000m (6000 ft). Maximum working current is 10A. The RF signal can pass through doors, walls and trees as well as other barriers.

Someone works in a very famous hotel in downtown. He wants remotely control lighted taxi symbol outside of hotel at night (The taxi is not allowed to drive too close in front of hotel gate). When customers need to call a taxi, he only presses a button to switch on taxi symbol. The taxi drivers will drive to hotel carry customers. He can switch off taxi symbol by remote controller when drivers carry customers away.

What an exactly good idea! It is so convenience both to customers and hotel staff. The practice may be not complicated if he use our this kind remote controller.

Such a solution is an effective way to avoid running back and forth for hotel staff. Taxi driver will appreciate it because he carries customers in time and get earning as soon as possible. The lighted taxi symbol will be connected to the receiver as the following picture shown.

When customers need to call taxi, staff in hotel can press big button on the transmitter. Then the taxi symbol will shine. When taxi drivers see lighted symbol, he will come to drive customers.

When customers are carried away, staff can press small button switch off the taxi symbol. Staff will be very pleased with the operation of the taxi symbol and enjoys the great range of the remote control.
