Normally Open /Closed Wiring Method

In a switch where the contacts remain in one state unless actuated, the contacts can either be normally open (abbreviated “n.o.” or “no“) until closed by operation of the switch, or normally closed (“n.c.” or “nc“) and opened by the switch action. Our remote receiver can be grouped into two types according to its current output modes. They are normally open/closed switch connection or current direct output connection (Controlled device can get power from powered receiver directly).

Recently, one customer sent a picture of “Normally Open/Closed Receiver Connecting to an AC Lamp” to us to ask whether it is correct or not.

wrong connection

Unfortunately, it is a wrong wiring. Please see a red cross to the lamp wiring from the following picture. This red cross points out the wrong wiring. AC lamp should not wire to the normally open terminals of receiver because there is no current through them which are only equivalent to a switch.

wrong connection Copy

The correct wiring is as follow. This is the 1 channel normally open/ closed ac receiver (S1U-AC220) wiring. AC lamp is connected to normally open terminals B&C. And add a wire between terminals B&N and another wire to terminals C&L. At last, wire a plug to terminals L&N. Then, we finish the wiring.

Momentary 12V Remote Switch Combines with Movement Sensor for Hot Water Pump Motor

Question from customer:

I want to control a water heater recirculation pump via wireless motion sensors. The pump will activate on a momentary 12 volt pulse. It will need three separate detectors from 3 different locations. They are kitchen, shower room, toilet. When someone enters those places, the water heater recirculation pump begins to work and supply cool water to heater.

Answer:

We recommend our wireless infrared motion detector and 1 channel momentary 12V receiver (W-01&S1XM-DC12) to you. The wireless infrared motion will detect any movement of area of detection within 10M. In addition, the receiver is designed for momentary mode with 1 channel, which is for one appliance controlling. The designated appliance won’t need to be supplied any power instead of getting power from powered receiver. This unit’s working distance can reach 100M(theoretically).

motion detector and receiver

Here is the receiver and pump motor wiring. Wiring motor to A&B terminals and supply dc power to receiver, and motor will get power from powered receiver.

S1XM-DC12 circuit copy

Operation:

When someone enters into the area of detection, the motion detector will be triggered by any movement. The movement detector will send message to the receiver. When the receiver receives the signal from motion detector, it will activate the water heater pump to supply water to heater.

Using notes:

Note 1: Don’t put the detector towards lighting, sunshine or the computer.

Note 2: Don’t put the detector in an environment of strong wind, steam, oil smoke or be exposed to high temperature.

Note 3: Don’t put any obstacles in the detecting area.

Note 4: Don’t install 2 or more infrared movement detectors within a small space.

DIY Automatic Irrigation Pump

Question from customer:

I need to start and stop an electric motor (water pump) 1500 meters away from a house. The water pump is initiated by an irrigation controller. A relay n/o or n/c contact is automatically operated from the irrigation controller when no one is home. Currently there are 2 wires running all the way and are regularly damaged by cows, fires, machinery. I wish to start and stop this motor via remote control, but there are no always people there to push the button on a remote control. This start is initiated by a voltage free relay contact.

Answer:

We recommend the 1 channel high power long range receiver S1PU-AC220-ANT2 and 5~28V triggered transmitter CB-2V.

remote control unit

The outstanding feature of this transmitter is that it has two wires, when two wires connect to low voltage, transmitter will send signal to receiver to activate controlled appliance.

1_01

The receiver is 1 channel with extended antenna and multiple working modes. When it pairs with its transmitter, its transmitting distance is up to 2000M in the open air.

Here is the wiring diagram for transmitter and receiver.

For transmitter, you can manage to find an electric device as a triggered switch for its two wires. Do as following shown, connect two wires to electric device.

1_04

For the receiver, there are normally open/ closed terminals. Usually, we wire electric device to the normally open terminals. So A&B terminals are normally open; A&C terminals are normally closed. We can connect motor to A&B terminals. And connect a wire between B&L terminals and another wire to A&N terminals. Through N&L terminals, supply AC power to the receiver.

circuit

When the transmitter is triggered by low voltage to two wires, it will transmit “ON” signal to receiver to open the irrigation pump. When power is cut off, it will transmit “OFF” signal to receiver to stop the irrigation pump.

Manual Switch Turn on LED On the Receiver Remotely and Turn off it after delay time

Question from customer:

The transmitter is to function as a switch to the receiver activated by supplying a 12v DC

current to the transmitter (switching it on).

The receiver then permits a 12v DC current to be supplied to a specific appliance. When the transmitter is shut off the receiver should have a 15 to 20 second delay before stopping supply to its appliance which will then shut down.

Answer:

We recommend this kind of controlling unit —12V time delayed receiver and low voltage triggered transmitter (S1X-DC12-ANT2+CB-2V) to you. It is applied for device controlling another device. The remarkable characteristic of the transmitter CB-2V will be triggered by DC power 5~28V input. That’s to say, when you give voltage of 5~28V to the transmitter, transmitter will be on. We add external extended antenna which makes transmitting distance up to 2000m. We design time delayed function program for this receiver which can realize that the controlled appliance on the receiver will be off after 15~20 seconds when you shut off transmitter. We can preset time according to you requirement.

According to the picture above, he wants the transmitter can be activated by manual switch and turn receiver on/off when the current in that circuit is on/off. First, the transmitter is supposed to be connected to power supply and that manual switch. Second, designated appliance should be connected to receiver. In addition, you don’t have to supply power to your appliance because appliance will get power through powered receiver.

Let’s see practical use. Here is the transmitter and manual switch wiring.

CB-2V-and manual switch

S1X-DC+CB-2V-lamp on

We switch on the manual switch and the transmitter will send an “ON” signal to the receiver. The receiver receives the signal to instruct the light to turn on. We switch off the manual switch and the transmitter will send an “OFF” signal to the receiver. Owning to the time delayed program, the receiver won’t give response to transmitter. After 15~20 seconds, the receiver will instruct the light to turn off. (The delay time is preset according to your requirement.)

Alarm Siren Remote Controlling by Triggered Transmitter and 1 Channel DC Receiver 2000M

Question from customer:

I am searching for a solution to send a wireless signal across roughly 300m. The receiver will be 12v powered. The transmitter will be used turn on with a relay then send a wireless signal to the receiver. The receiver in turn will activate a 12v alarm siren system. These need to be sending while in alarm and stop sending when the relay shuts off.

Answer:

Our suggestion is 2000M RF remote control apply for device control another device (S1L-DC12-ANT2+CB-2N).

remote control&siren

The remarkable feature of its transmitter is that its triggering method is connection and disconnection of two wires (Black&Red).

1_09

This transmitter & receiver set can be used in such a situation when you want to use an electrical device to remotely control another device. It has extensive application range. It controls lights, motors, fans, electrically operated doors/locks/windows/blinds/cars or other appliances with voltage AC110~240V or DC0~28V. You can turn on/off the receiver with transmitter (remote control) from any place within a reliable distance (within 2000M open field); the wireless RF signal can pass through walls, floors and doors.

You may wonder how it works with alarm sirensystem. Let’s see the following wiring and operation procedure.

Wiring:

Wires on the transmitter should be connected to the contacts of original device. Here we suggest that you can add a manual switch between two wires to control its connection.

transmitter circuit

The normally open contacts B&C of receiver should be connected to the alarm siren being controlled. We offer three voltage versions for receiver: 9V, 12V and 24V. You can choose the right one according to the voltage of device being controlled. You can supply 12V power to receiver and your alarm siren system respectively.

receiver circuit

Operation:

As you requirement, we finished all procedure. Move to “ON” position of transmitter’s switch. Then we move manual switch to “ON” position, the contacts of two wires are closed, the transmitter is triggered and then transmits an rf signal “ON” to the receiver. After the receiver receives the signal, contacts B&C are closed; Your alarm siren start to work.

Then we move manual switch to “OFF” position, the contacts of two wires are cut, the transmitter is triggered and then transmits an rf signal “OFF” to the receiver. After the receiver receives the signal, contacts B&C are cut; your alarm siren system stops working.
